Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has revealed that he doesn’t expect main man Radamel Falcao to still be in his plans come the start of next season, according to talkSPORT.
The Colombian hitman has been in sensational form over the past 18 months helping Atletico to improve greatly in La Liga to challenge the top two of Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Falcao has a release clause of £50million in his contract but the player is likely to request the Madrid club considers any offers for him this summer.
Chelsea have been long term admirers of the 27-year-old even back to his Porto days and the Blues may look to use Atletico legend Fernando Torres as some part of a deal to get Falcao to West London.
Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has also been tracking the powerful striker this season and may have the financial muscle to move ahead of Chelsea in the reckoning.
“It will be very difficult to keep Falcao, but it would be a wonderful thing,” he is quoted as saying on TuttoMercatoWeb.
