Chelsea targeting January pass-master move to save season

Chelsea are pondering a January move for Atletico Madrid’s Koke with their season in tatters, according to reports from talkSPORT.

The defending Premier League champions have made a woeful start to the 2015/16 campaign, losing a staggering four matches from eight to leave them in 16th position.

A major concern for manager Jose Mourinho so far has been the form of central midfield pair Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic, and reports claim that he’s eager to add some flair and creativity to his ranks in the shape of Koke in a bid to turn things around.

The 23-year-old has already represented Atleti on more than 150 occasions and rose to prominence as the club won the La Liga title in 2013/14 while also reaching the Champions League Final.

It’s likely that the Madrid side will demand at least £40m for their man, and they may also resist any winter approaches in favour of a potential summer sale.
