Chelsea fans are looking ahead to the weekend's Premier League match against Liverpool and have suggested that some of the current players should be rested for Wednesday evening's Carabao Cup match, which is also against Liverpool, at Anfield.

The Blues and the Reds square off twice this week with Saturday's Premier League match set to be played at Stamford Bridge. Some Chelsea fans feel Wednesday's match could be a good chance for manager Maurizio Sarri to give the younger players in the squad some valuable game-time.

Liverpool head into the clash, and possibly both matches, as favourites after a very solid start to their season, winning seven in a row and executing a very strong defensive structure.

The names of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ethan Ampadu have been mentioned by Chelsea fans as players who deserve a chance against a strong opponent like Liverpool. The duo travelled with the first team to Greece last week for Chelsea's Europa League match against PAOK but weren't included on the bench by Sarri.
