Chelsea have had a frustrating few days on the pitch; they were held to a goalless draw by Leicester City and made it into the fourth round of the FA Cup by the skin of their teeth.

The Blues took on Championship side Norwich City on Wednesday night in a replay at Stamford Bridge.

Antonio Conte's team failed to find the breakthrough in 120 minutes of football as they had to secure their progression via a penalty shootout, which they won 5-3.

With regards to the transfer window, things do not seem to be running smoothly either.

The club acquired the signature of Ross Barkley from Everton earlier this month, but their hunt for a striker is yet to produce a deal.

A number of media outlets, including The Guardian, claim that the club have had talks with West Ham United over the signing of Andy Carroll, who would act as back-up to Alvaro Morata.

Former Chelsea midfielder Dennis Wise believes that the Blues would be making the wrong choice, and should instead move for Leicester City's Jamie Vardy or Manchester City star Sergio Aguero.

He told Sky Sports The Debate:

“I watched the Leicester versus Chelsea game and he caused a lot of problems, Jamie Vardy. I have said it before, the guy scores goals. He gets in behind, he's quick, he stretches the team, leaves the space for the creative players where they need to drop themselves. They need someone else. I don't think Andy Carroll is the answer. Another one, Aguero, it would be lovely to try and get someone like that."
