Chelsea to take summer spending past £100m with £80m double transfer move

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is set to take his summer spending past the £100m mark with a double move for N’Golo Kante and Kalidou Koulibaly, according to reports from The Sun.

The Italian tactician is now firmly in the Blues hot-seat following the close of his Azzurri duties at EURO 2016 and is set to kick his west London plans into gear over the coming weeks.

The club have already sealed a £33m move for Michy Batshuayi following his stellar 2015/16 at Marseille, and now reports claim that £80m could be paid for Koulibaly and Kante as Conte looks to address concerns in midfield and defence.

Kante shone for Leicester as they claimed the Premier League title last term, and it’s understood that a £30m deal is still being sought, even though reports have rubbished suggestions of a £29.2m fee having been agreed already.

The Frenchman could slot in ahead of Conte’s backline, which may include Koulibaly.

The 6ft. 5” Senegal international has been a key man at Napoli in recent times, and it’s believed that a £50m fee, which would match Chelsea’s club record sum paid for Fernando Torres in 2011, will be enough to lure him from Naples to London.
