Chelsea look to be on the verge of securing a move for Danilo Pantic after the Partizan Belgrade midfielder revealed a deal will be done before the close of the January window, the Mirror reports.
The 18-year-old is believed to have rejected a professional contract with his current club as he is keen on making a move to join the Premier League leaders.
“In the situation we are now in, going to Chelsea would be the best solution for me and for Partizan,” Pantic told the Mirror.
“I am not sure when I will be back in Belgrade, I believe in the next day or two, and a transfer should be done this week.”
Serie A giants Juventus were one of the first sides to have entered the race to sign the Serbian starlet, a move which alerted the Blues into making an initial offer of £1.25million.
Belgrade are now said to have accepted the proposed bid and Pantic will now be set to complete his four-year-deal move to Stamford Bridge, but will be joining Vitesse Arnhem on loan until the end of the season.
Jose Mourinho is known for signing a number of young stars and immediately loaning them out in order for them to enjoy more first team football.
Some players that the Portuguese boss has already sent out on loan includes Lucas Piazon to Eintracht Frankfurt, Gael Kakuta to Rayo Vallecano, and Marco van Ginkel to AC Milan.
