Chelsea are “very interested” in Lokomotiv Moscow striker Oumar Niasse, according to CalcioMercato journalist Matteo Pedrosi.
The Blues have endured a woeful start to the defence of their Premier League title and currently sit just three points above the relegation zone.
Although the Londoners’ defence has been a big issue, misfiring strikers Diego Costa, Radamel Falcao and Loic Remy haven’t provided the goals needed, leading to suggestions interim manager Guus HIddink wants a new marksman this month.
And Pedrosi believes that Chelsea are “very interested” in Niasse, who has been in electric form for Lokomotiv of late.
The Senegal international has netted seven goals in 11 games in the Russian top tier this term, as well as a further four in six in Europa League action.
The 25-year-old could well be tempted by a move to the Premier League, where compatriots such as Demba Ba, Papiss Cisse and Sadio Mane have thrived in recent seasons.
