Chelsea weighing up move for Everton ace

Ross Barkley (Everton)Chelsea are looking into launching a £20m January move for Everton midfielder Ross Barkley, according to reports from the Sunday People.

The Toffees starlet has emerged as one of England’s finest young talents this term after breaking into the Merseysiders’ first-team under new boss Roberto Martinez.

His impressive displays have led to a call-up to represent the Three Lions from Roy Hodgson, and alerted a number of the Premier League’s big sides.

Chelsea are believed to be at the front of the queue for the 19-year-old, with Jose Mourinho a big fan of the youngster.

He sees the teenager as the ideal player to inject some dynamism into his midfield ranks and is ready to make a £20m move for his signature.

However their move could be thwarted by Hodgson, who is keen for Barkley to stay with Everton.

The England boss is eyeing the starlet to be a part of his squad for the 2014 World Cup, and would rather he was playing regularly to boost his development.

His chances of walking straight into Chelsea’s midfield are slim, but he is already established as a big player at Everton.

Should Ross Barkley stay at Everton? Or move to Chelsea?
