Jose Mourinho… where do we start. The Portuguese manager is perhaps the most divisive character in modern football, with his quite frankly staggering record in terms of success matched by his controversial antics both on the touchline and in the media.
From blatantly hypocritical statements to stunning outbursts, the self-styled ‘Special One’ has given his enemies plenty to of ammo, but that’s probably what he’s always wanted to do. Jose is the master of the ‘mind game’, using anything possible to deflect attention away from his side when things haven’t gone so well, and he’s been up to those old tracks once again of late.
An opening day draw at home to Swansea on Saturday as the Premier League kicked back into action was far from ideal for the Blues, who looked pretty lifeless in attack against an impressive Swans unit. In the end the Londoners held on for a point despite losing Thibaut Courtois to a red card, but instead of the focus being on the limp performance or the rash actions of the Belgian star, we’re all talking about Chelsea’s medical team…
