According to El Desmarque, Real Madrid are interested in signing Callum Hudson-Odoi.

What's the story?

The 19-year-old put pen-to-paper on a five-year deal earlier this year after Chelsea fended off interest from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

Now, though, it appears Los Merengues would be keen on taking the teenager to the Santiago Bernabeu. Zinedine Zidane is said to have an eye on the winger.

Wasted in Madrid

Hudson-Odoi certainly has talent. So far this campaign, he has one goal and five assists in 11 matches for the Blues in all competitions as he continues his recovery from an Achilles injury. He already has a Transfermarkt value of £31.5m even at his age, and that will surely only go up in the future.

However, Real Madrid already have an abundance of talent on the wings that would surely block Hudson-Odoi's path to the first team. First up, there is Eden Hazard, who joined the 13-time European Champions earlier in the summer from Chelsea. The Belgium international is a legend in south-west London, scoring 110 goals in 352 appearances for the Blues. So far, he has one goal and four assists in La Liga as he begins to get to grips with Spanish football.

Vinicius Junior is another winger at Zidane's disposal. Also 19, he already has 96 professional club appearances under his belt along with a Transfermarkt value of £63m. 11 appearances already this season suggests he is a big part of his manager's plans, whilst Rodrygo should feature heavily as well.

One year younger at 18, he recently scored a hat-trick in the Champions League, becoming the second-youngest player in history to do so behind Raul. He already has six goals in eight games for Real, and again, he has a big future ahead of him.

Where does Hudson-Odoi fit in here? With so much talent, he will be scrapping for minutes. At his age, he needs regular football, and that is unlikely to come in Spain. For now, at least, he should sit tight at Chelsea and break his way into Frank Lampard's team on a regular basis. That should be his first goal before even contemplating such a move.
