It was a good night for England's U21s against Austria on Tuesday.

The Young Lions were in fine form as they strolled past their opponents, eventually running out 5-1 victors. There were plenty of impressive performances from Aidy Boothroyd's boys, but Callum Hudson-Odoi particularly stood out and showed why he already has two senior England caps to his name.

Who has been the most improved player in the EPL this season? Find out in the video below...

The 18-year-old set the ball rolling with a well-taken volley from inside the penalty area, whilst he also bagged a second later on in the match too. The latter was a wonderful curling effort from outside the box that left goalkeeper Fabian Ehmann with no chance.

Overall, his display was a cut above those around him. Of the England players who started the match, only fellow Chelsea teammate Marc Guehi recorded a higher pass accuracy than the winger's 90%, whilst he also topped the charts with four successful dribbles. Impressively, he scored with both of his shots on the night, which shows just how clinical he was.

He also managed to create two chances and landed 66% of his attempted crosses too. And he was also on top in terms of his ground duels, winning seven of the 13 he contested.

The main thing to take from this was the professional way in which he performed against inferior opposition. He is fast becoming a star at Stamford Bridge, and he could have seen his omission from Gareth Southgate's side as a snub, but he was far from complacent here.

When the next international break arrives next month, Hudson-Odoi will be ready to move up once again to where he belongs.

Of course, the reason he played with the U21s this time around is likely to be down to his recent return from an Achilles injury. His start against Southampton was his first in the Premier League of the campaign, and so he still has to get up to speed once again.

However, he has showed that he is beginning to hit his stride, and the south-west London outfit's supporters must be licking their lips following this dominant display.
