The wait is finally over, the Chelsea starlet has finally penned a deal that will keep him developing under youth-friendly boss Frank Lampard.

For a club who have always disregarded their youth talent, shipping them out on loan deals around the world before they’re eventually released into the wild with next to no appearances for their parent club and only a brimming travelling scrapbook to show for it, this is a brilliant coup.

Here’s to hoping it isn’t another case of Lucas Piazon, Tomas Kalas, Kenneth Omeruo, or Marco van Ginkel.
