Chelsea are considering a shock move for wantaway Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart, according to The Sun.
Joe Hart’s credibility has fallen over the past few years, from being the undisputed England no.1 to struggling to make the West Ham team.
The Manchester City goalkeeper is looking to make a permanent move from the Etihad this summer after two seasons on loan, first at Torino then at the Hammers, and according to the latest reports, Chelsea are considering a £5million bid for the shot stopper as a replacement for Thibaut Courtois.
Even if Hart rediscovers his from from earlier in his career, he is undoubtedly a step down from the world class Courtois who looks set to leave for Real Madrid this summer.
If Chelsea really want to return to the top, they need a world class ‘keeper, not a quick fix 31-year-old with a confidence issue who played for rivals West Ham last season.
It’s telling that Chelsea are no longer attracting the world’s best and having to look for a bargain Premier League second choice option.
