Just like the senior side against Bulgaria, England's U21s were in fine form against Austria on Tuesday night.

In what was a comfortable outing against inferior opposition, the Young Lions dominated from start to finish, eventually winning 5-1. There were two Chelsea representatives in Aidy Boothroyd's starting line-up. Callum Hudson-Odoi will grab the headlines thanks to his impressive brace, but it is worth noting the performance of his Blues teammate Marc Guehi as well.

The Ivory Coast-born defender recorded the second-most clearances, and also managed two tackles. Although he wasn't involved in too many ground duels, he still won 66% of the ones he contested, whilst he won 75% of those in the air.

It was in possession of the ball where he looked truly composed though. He registered a pass completion rate of 93%, which was the most of any of the 22 players who started the match.

Overall, Blues boss Frank Lampard will have been impressed and buoyed by what he saw.

He has not had the best of luck with injuries at the heart of his defence so far, with both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen suffering problems already this campaign.

Should there be any more who need to spend time on the sidelines, then Guehi could be called upon. However, the former Derby County boss need not worry, as the centre-back looks ready to fill the void if he turns to him in a time of need.
