There have been very few managers who have made an impact as big at Stamford Bridge as Jose Mourinho, but could he tarnish his legacy at the club by moving to Tottenham Hotspur?

However, that legacy could be under immense threat if the latest rumours are anything to go by. According to The Daily Mail, he is said to be monitoring the situation at Tottenham as the pressure begins to build on Mauricio Pochettino.
Should he join Spurs, he would surely be cutting all ties with Chelsea in doing so.
Of course, he put his special relationship with the club's supporters under intense strain during his time at Manchester United after he was sacked in December of 2015 by the Blues.
He has regularly taken aim at the club's supporters, such as when he said Stamford Bridge was "quiet" in his programme notes before the Red Devils' fixture in the Champions League against Juventus, whilst also insinuating that United have "real supporters" unlike at Chelsea.
However, joining Tottenham would do even more damage than his time at Old Trafford ever could.
The north London side are amongst the Blues' closest rivals, and to say the two do not like each other would be to put it lightly. There is genuine hate, and Mourinho would not be spared that should he take up the manager's position with the Lilywhites.
It would even be seen as the ultimate betrayal.
Joining Manchester United was bad enough but, other than the fact they are regularly competing for top spots in the Premier League, historically speaking they are not fierce rivals and there is little animosity between the two.
With Tottenham, it is a different story. Should Mourinho replace the Argentinian, his legacy and relationship with the fans at Stamford Bridge would be left in tatters.
