It should be an interesting Boxing Day for Chelsea as they welcome a confident Bournemouth to Stamford Bridge in their penultimate fixture of 2016.

The Cherries - much like the hosts themselves - are in a fine run of form, recording wins against Liverpool, Leicester and Stoke in recent weeks. Those results are amongst a mixed bag for Eddie Howe's side, however, as losses at Burnley and Southampton have disrupted their rise up the table.

Nevertheless, Bournemouth are in an all-time high league position, which in itself is a wonderful achievement.

As for Chelsea, well, what can be said? Eleven Premier League victories in a row sees them dominating the division and leaves them six points clear of closest chasers Liverpool going into Christmas Day.

Another victory on Boxing Day would mean twelve straight wins, a club record for the Blues. December 26 is synonymous with football nowadays, and Chelsea, like many others, have had some good games on this date in the past and scored some cracking goals, too.

Here are Chelsea's THREE best ever Boxing Day goals...

3) Michael Ballack - Chelsea 4-4 Aston Villa, 2007/08

A special goal, a special game. What is it with this pair and four score draws?! I mean, I know they don't happen any longer with Villa being in the Championship and all, but there was a time when this was one of the most highly anticipated fixtures on the list for the neutral.

This Boxing Day encounter was perhaps the best of the lot, as Chelsea went 2-0 down, only to pull it back to 3-2 before Villa equalised. It was then the turn of Michael Ballack to step up and calmly slot the ball into the bottom corner from 20 yards or so to give the hosts a deserved lead, even if they did lose it only a few minutes later to a Gareth Barry penalty.

The Andriy Shevchenko strike wasn't bad either, but the state of mind to slot home so late in such a tense game from the German was unbelievable.

2) Diego Costa - Chelsea 2-0 West Ham, 2014/15

Back when Jose Mourinho was adored by the Chelsea faithful, and back when Diego Costa was possibly the angriest man on planet earth (a winning combination, by the way), the Blues were flying.

In a game that should have been more than over far before Costa's goal went in, it was indeed the enigmatic Spaniard who secured victory for his side against their London rivals.

The ball falls to Costa after the Hammers lose it in the middle, before he proceeds to charge at the defence, sells three of their hapless defenders a dummy and expertly slots it into the bottom corner. Class.

1) Hernan Crespo - Chelsea 3-2 Fulham, 2005/06

I always felt the legendary Argentine striker was slightly under-rated during his time at Chelsea, and wasn't given the opportunity to succeed as maybe he could have.

Why do I think that, you may ask... Because of moments like this.

The former AC Milan ace showed his still prevalent attacking prowess as this fine finish - one that certainly looks a lot easier than it is - put to bed a resilient Fulham as Chelsea thrilled the fans at the Bridge with a brilliant 3-2 win over their local rivals.
