According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are set to swoop for Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic.

What’s the story?

As per the aforementioned report, Pulisic is currently refusing to enter contract negotiations with Dortmund. As his current terms are set to expire in 2020, the Bundesliga outfit have little choice but to cash in on the winger before then.

The 20-year-old is a prodigious talent and has already amassed 76 appearances in the German top flight and has 22-caps for the USA to his name. He was a bright spark for his county on Thursday night as he managed to shine even as the USA were dispatched 3-0 by England at Wembley Stadium.

The American has such huge potential that, if Dortmund were to sell, they could probably expect to receive a fee of more than double Pulisic’s current Transfermarkt valuation of £40.5 million.

Despite the hefty expected price tag, Chelsea should still go all out to sign Pulisic as soon as possible.

Heir to Hazard

With Pedro ageing and Willian currently struggling to consistently display his best form, Maurizio Sarri is certainly in need of a new wide attacker to ease the burden currently resting on Eden Hazard’s shoulders.

Pulisic certainly has the quality to come to the Premier League and have an impact straight away and his arrival in January would provide a big boost to the Blues’ hopes of finishing in the top four.

What’s more, Pulisic could even prove to be the successor to Hazard should the Belgian superstar ever be lured away from Stamford Bridge.

What do you think, Blues fans - should Chelsea splash the cash and sign Pulisic?
