AFC Bournemouth have confirmed that they’ve signed Chelsea defender Nathan Ake on a season-long loan.
The Dutch starlet is rated as one of the club’s most exciting youngsters, having already made twelve senior appearances for the Blues – including five in the Premier League.
The versatile 21-year-old can operate in a number of positions, namely full-back, centre-back and defensive midfield, and boasts impressive 66 caps for the Netherlands at youth level.
Ake spent last season out on loan at Watford and hugely impressed, averaging 3.3 tackles and 3.2 interceptions per match during his 24 Premier League appearances.
And it appears the former Feyenoord youngster will be going out on loan again next term, with Bournemouth confirming a short-term deal for Ake on their official club website.
The versatile youngster will be part of Eddie Howe’s squad for the Cherries’ second season in the Premier League following their promotion from the Championship in summer 2015.
Upon signing Ake, chief executive Neill Blake said; “We are delighted to welcome Nathan to AFC Bournemouth.
“For a player of his age he already has great experience in the Premier League and we believe he will bring a lot to our squad.
