Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has reassured French defender Kurt Zouma that he will play a role for the Blues once he is fit and able to feature, according to The Telegraph.
The Stamford Bridge side splashed the cash to bring former charge David Luiz back to the West London club on transfer deadline day and give their Italian trainer an extra option at centre-half.
This will lead to extra competition for places and Zouma could well become something of a forgotten man given that he has been on the sidelines for the last six months.
The France international is recuperating from a serious knee injury picked up last season but is believed to be making progress towards full fitness again.
Although Chelsea have the likes of Luiz, John Terry, Gary Cahill and Branislav Ivanovic that can all feature at centre-half, the report suggests that Conte wants Zouma to play a major role for the side also.
