Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has warned star striker Diego Costa to clean up his act, report the Daily Mail.
Despite his standing as one of the best strikers in Europe when in full flow, the Spaniard’s time in West London has been littered with disciplinary problems.
While the dark side to the forward hasn’t quite reared its ugly head during the Italian’s reign in charge at Stamford Bridge, he has warned the former Atletico Madrid man to calm his temper.
He received 11 yellow cards in 44 games last season, also being sent off against Everton in the FA Cup.
Now, the former Juventus and Italy tactician has challenged the forward to focus his passion and aggression into something positive.
The La Roja international has been in good form so far this season, scoring twice so far, helping Conte to a perfect start to life in the Premier League.
‘Diego is a passionate man,’ Conte said.
‘For this reason, sometimes, he risks the yellow card. But I want him to improve in this aspect. I want to have Diego Costa in all the games.”
”But Diego knows the situation. With passion, the right passion and the right aggression. He must transfer his emotions on to the pitch in the right way.”
