Conte considers blockbuster raid to round off Chelsea spending

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is plotting a late £140m blockbuster raid to improve his squad amid his first season in charge, according to the Daily Express.

The Italian has so far brought in just N’Golo Kante and Michy Batshuayi this summer, amid the transfer circus being conducted in Manchester currently.

However, the former Juventus coach is understood to have lavish financial backing and is open to splashing the cash at Stamford Bridge.

Moves for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly and Romelu Lukaku have been mooted so far, addressing two key areas in the squad.

The former is thought to have had a £50m valuation slapped on his head by his current charges, who are standing firm over their asking price.

Still, the Senegalese is believed to be keen to join the Blues, while ongoing links with Lukaku refuse to go away.

After flourishing into one of the elite marksmen in the Premier League since leaving the club, the Everton ace is reported to be a huge money target.
