Conte identifies Manchester City forward as top target upon Chelsea arrival

Incoming Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has identified Manchester City striker Stefan Jovetic as a shock target this summer, according to the Daily Star.

The Italian coach is due to take over at Stamford Bridge this summer following Italy’s Euro 2016 campaign and has naturally been linked with a number of top players.

However, Jovetic has reportedly emerged as a surprise candidate for the former Juventus boss as he plots what is likely to be a major squad overhaul.

The 26-year old struggled at Manchester City following a big money move in 2013, though was regarded as a top quality forward while with Fiorentina.

Conte is understood to have taken a keen interest in the Montenegrin while with Juventus, though La Viola refused to do business at the time.

Currently on loan with Inter Milan, the San Siro outfit are not thought to be keen on extending his deal at the end of the season.
