Conte keen on £45m Serie A double raid as he plots Chelsea re-build

Chelsea may launch a £45m summer double raid on Roma for Radja Nainggolan and Kostas Manolas as they look to kick off the Antonio Conte era in west London, according to reports from the Mirror.

The Italy coach is expected to succeed Guus Hiddink in the Blues’ dugout ahead of 2016/17, with the Azzurri coach having already confirmed that he will leave his current post after EURO 2016.

With Chelsea having put up a miserable defence of the title they won under Jose Mourinho, a summer overhaul is expected, and reports claim that Conte wants Roma’s Nainggolan and Manolas as he puts plans in place.

Nainggolan is a ferocious box-to-box midfielder, who has emerged as one of the most feared men in his position in Serie A.

The Belgium international could form the bedrock of a new-look engine room, with Nemanja Matic’s form having dipped alarmingly this term.

Centre-back Manolas is also wanted, with the Greece international a potential replacement for John Terry.
