Borussia Dortmund are keen to advance talks with Chelsea over a £50m transfer for Michy Batshuayi this summer, according to the Daily Mail.
The Mail report that Dortmund have held further discussions with the Belgian striker, who spent the second half of last season on loan with the German outfit, over the prospect of a permanent transfer this summer.
It goes on to say that the situation with regards his future will not be resolved quickly as the forward wishes to make a decision after the World Cup in Russia this summer, where he could well take on England in the final round of group games.
It is something of a surprise that Conte is still in his job at Stamford Bridge – the FA Cup win might have bought him some time – but it would be a major shock if he was still manager for the first game of next season.
Despite that, Conte must do right by the club and ensure that a promising player in Batshuayi, who showed what he can do when fit and confident with his red-hot form in the Bundesliga this year, remains in West London.
Olivier Giroud, Alvaro Morata, Tammy Abraham and Batshuayi make up a strong strike force, capable of firing Chelsea back into the top four and maybe even beyond. The Belgian cannot leave this summer.
