Courtois is statistical Europe’s best stopper

Chelsea have had a fantastic season so far and the Blues are everyone’s bet to clinch their second Premier League title in three years, having lost just once since the end of September.

With a five point lead heading into this weekend’s clash with Leicester City, the Blues are there to be shot down but the fantastic defence, under the guidance of Antonio Conte, has been extremely difficult to break down.

Thibaut Courtois has been a monster between the sticks, behind Chelsea’s valiant back-three, and the Blues defence is arguably the strongest in Europe all week.

With eleven clean sheets, Courtois boasts the best record in all of Europe’s top five leagues and he’s quite a way ahead of his closest competitors in the Premier League; with second-place David De Gea, Fraser Forster and Hugo Lloris having seven.

Chelsea’s difficult run of games over the next month that sees them face Leicester, Liverpool and Arsenal could struggle to add to Courtois’ clean-sheet tally.
