The Express (citing The Times) has reported that David Luiz could well be on his way out of Chelsea after the club refused to shelve their over thirties wage policy, meaning that the Brazilian failed to agree terms and will therefore leave on a free in the summer when his current deal expires.

The former PSG man has been a consistently solid performer for Maurizio Sarri this season as he slowly regains the form he found under previous boss Antonio Conte - an apathetic showing versus Chelsea aside - but now looks set to be on his way out of Stamford Bridge.

Sarri hopes that the club can abandon their strict policy so that he may have a hope of keeping Luiz and Cesc Fabregas, both 0f whom turn 32 in 2019, while Gary Cahill has been told he can leave on January in search of game-time - the former Bolton man has made just seven appearances this season, only one of which was in the Premier League.
