Chelsea have a lot too look forward to judging by the performances of their loanees. Lewis Baker has established himself as one of the Vitesse Arnhem midfield’s most creative players of late, and appears to have settled well following his loan move to the Netherlands last summer. On top of a fantastic free kick goal, the 20-year-old created nine chances for his side in their 2-1 loss at NEC last weekend. Baker has become a goalscoring threat from outside the box as well, and will not shy away from a long-range strike.
Chelsea often loan players out just to see them eventually leave, but is Baker ready for a run with the Blues’ first team? With Antonio likely to field younger line-ups next term, it would be nice to see how Baker would fit into the starting XI.
Chelsea have to see what Baker can bring to their side and how he will fit in before letting him walk away.
