EFL Cup: The Chelsea XI to beat West Ham

This week’s round of EFL Cup fixtures really are inspiring. It’s coming to the point where the so-called lesser cup competition is regularly eclipsing the FA Cup in terms of quality and with Liverpool having played Spurs, the Manchester Derby being on its way and Southampton facing Sunderland, this year’s instalment is set for an exciting Round of 16.

Among the fixtures is Chelsea hosting West Ham. Although there are a few London derbies per-season, the Blues and the Hammers are two in-form teams and both are sure to have serious ambitions in this competition, making this fixture potentially the best of the mid-week action.

Indeed, neither club is in Europe, which means that they can field some of their first-team regulars, while the chance of a Wembley final will appeal to Antonio Conte in his first few months at the club and Slaven Bilic given the pressure he’s been under of late.

We at FFC Towers are excited about this one, and we think Chelsea will see off the Claret and Blues if they pick this win-guaranteeing XI.
