Ross Barkley played 83 minutes of England’s Euro 2020 qualifier against Kosovo on Tuesday night.
Indeed, the Chelsea midfielder was again named in Gareth Southgate’s starting XI for the Group A clash, which ended in a 5-3 win for the Three Lions.
England were poor defensively at St Mary’s but offered plenty down the other end with Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling and Jadon Sancho all on the scoresheet.
According to WhoScored, Barkley had a pass success rate of 89%, whilst he managed three successful dribbles and had one shot before being replaced by Mason Mount.
It was the Chelsea midfielder’s pass that landed Michael Keane in all sorts of bother early on, though, which allowed Kosovo to take the lead inside the first minute.
And there were a number of occasions where he made the wrong decision.
It would be fair to say that a lot of England fans were upset with the 25-year-old’s performance in the international affair, and a selection of their Twitter reaction can be seen below:
Has Ross Barkley developed any part of his game since breaking through for Martinez at Everton

Barkley holds the ball too damn much. Man still thinks he’s the star player at Everton.

Barkley is washed, I don’t think he can ever replicate his form when he was at Everton

Awful by Barkley. So indecisive with wide options free on both sides. Gets tackled.

Barkley has been dreadful. Always seems to have the ball for far too long. #ENGKOS
