The Roma midfielder has been in fine form this season, notching up six goals in 34 Serie A appearances whilst averaging 1.9 tackles, 1.3 interceptions and 1.2 successful dribbles per match.
According to The Guardian, Chelsea have already seen a £23million bid rejected for the Belgium international, with Giallorossi reportedly valuing him at around £9million more.
The Guardian also allege that incoming manager Antonio Conte has made signing Nainggolan one of Chelsea’s top priorities for the coming transfer window – a claim substantiated by The Metro.
The 28-year-old, however, has insisted he will continue to ply his trade at the Stadio Olimpico for the foreseeable future, in a huge dent to the west London club’s transfer plans.
As quoted by The Metro, Nainggolan recently told fans at a Sky Italia event; “I will stay. I’m not moving from here. I’m happy in Rome, I don’t want to leave.”
In the final game of an incredible 2015/16 season in the Premier League, Chelsea play hosts to anointed champions Leicester City at Stamford Bridge this weekend.
