According to reports from The Sun, Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci wants to follow Antonio Conte to Chelsea this summer, despite a recent transfer bid from their Premier League rivals Manchester City.
The 29-year-old is a member of the Old Lady’s legendary three-man defence and lifted three consecutive Serie A titles during Conte’s reign over the Turin outfit.
He’s continued to excel under the 46-year-old gaffer this summer as a central factor behind Italy’s march to the Euro 2016 quarter-final – where they were eliminated by Germany in a chaotic penalty shootout.
Sky Sports reported yesterday that Manchester City had launched a £38million bid for the 6 foot 3 defender, only to see it knocked back by the Italian champions.
And The Sun now claim that Bouncci is more interested in moving to Stamford Bridge anyway, because he wants to work under Conte once again next season.
The west Londoners have only made one signing so far this summer, in the form of Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi.
