Chelsea loanee already eyeing next move

Radamel Falcao is hopeful that his agent, Jorge Mendes, can save him from his Chelsea exile in the coming few weeks by engineering a move to China, according to reports from The Guardian.

The Colombia international came close to terminating his season-long spell with the Blues on deadline day, but a move that would have seen him sent back to Monaco and on to Atletico Madrid for the remainder of the season collapsed.

Falcao’s failed switch back to Atleti and Alexandre Pato’s loan switch to Chelsea have effectively left the 29-year-old in limbo at Stamford Bridge, with the once-feared striker now fourth choice under Guus Hiddink, behind the aforementioned Brazilian, Loic Remy and main forward, Diego Costa.

However, the former Porto marksman may see his 2016 saved if Mendes can secure him a move to the Chinese Super League.

Reports claim that Falcao himself is open to the idea of following big names such as Ramires to East Asia, while it’s been mooted that Jiangsu Suning are interested in him.

Chinese teams are free to sign new players up until the 26 February, so as long as the currently injured Chelsea loanee can prove his fitness in time, the door remains ajar.
