Chelsea could cash in on striker Fernando Torres to fund a move for Napoli striker Edinson Cavani, reports have claimed.
Torres has fired home 22 goals as Chelsea have qualified for the Champions League and won the Europa League this season, but only seven of those came in the league, the last being against Aston Villa in December.
Chelsea are now ready to listen to offers and accept they will have to take a big loss on the player who cost them £50million when he arrived from Liverpool back in January 2011.
Jose Mourinho is expected to return to Stamford Bridge in the summer and according to reports he wants a new-look attack that will include Cavani and Bayer Leverkusen’s Andre Schurrle.
A deal for Schurrle has all but been sorted out but there is still work to be done on the Cavani transfer as a host of top European clubs are also interested in the striker.
Chelsea can expect to recoup in the region of £20million on Torres but it will take as much as £70million to land both Cavani and Schurrle.
