Their start to the season may have been poor, but being Chelsea manager on FM16 is as exciting as ever.
The budget is a luxury, but it doesn’t mean you should be foolish with your cash. Even at a club as powerful as the Blues, its always wise to look out for a bargain here and there and particularly when it comes to players who could be worth double or treble their value in a few seasons time.
If its searching through the transfer list or hunting for the latest youth product from Brazil, being Chelsea manager allows you to attract almost any player you could dream of. Chelsea’s squad might be fresh from winning a title, but to meet the challenging requirements from the board on FM16 the squad will need some adaptations to make sure you can keep the success going into a second and third season.
Here are FIVE bargain additions you need to consider when managing Chelsea…
One of the true stars of FM15, Barbosa is still a force to be reckoned with whether played number 10 or as a striker. His talents are much like those of Neymar and this Brazilian wonderkid is still available for around £10million.
He starts the game at only 18 and is now just as good at wide-right, the Brazilian will be one of the best players in the game by 2021 and still only 24-years-old.
By the time he is 24, expect to see him competing for the Ballon D’or and what better player could there be to play alongside Eden Hazard.
Tielemans is another of the stars to come out of Belgium and looks to be ready to make his name on the biggest European stages.
As a creative midfielder with plenty of pace, Tielemans is comfortable playing as a playmaker from central midfield or just behind the striker.
Chelsea could use the Belgian as cover for Cesc Fabregas and within a few years there is no better free kick taker on the game than the Anderlecht man.
At only 22, this FC Twente midfielder provides good cover for Fabregas and Oscar at attacking midfield and has the potential to develop into a top quality creative force.
His vision of 16 can take the strain of the creative duties off of Fabregas, although it may be a good idea to improve on his finishing abilities if he is to be used in an advanced role.
Or, improve on his tackling of 4 if he is to be used in a deeper role with greater defensive responsibility.
This German giant may not be the cheapest player on this list, but any price is a bargain when you have a potential as high as his.
On previous games, Sule has become an absolute rock and FM16 is no different. His height makes him a constant threat from set pieces and, if partnered with a more nimble centre-back, can still be utilised in a higher line defensive tactic if you so desire.
From all the glamour of Brazil, here is a boy from Bolton who is available for under £10million and can develop into a star.
Clough starts off with finishing of 15, at the age of 20, and by the time he is 26, in 2021, he has all the attributes required to be a truly lethal forward.
He may well stay at Bolton for a few seasons into your save, but the earlier you can snap him up the cheaper and with the service of Fabregas and Hazard he is likely to score plenty.
