Chelsea aren’t far from landing another Premier League title. In fact, it could be argued that very little needs to be done to the squad other than the matter of a new striker and perhaps a defensive addition.
But that won’t matter to either Jose Mourinho or Roman Abramovich and the duo will be keen to enter the market with ambitions of creating a gulf next season in the league.
Despite Mourinho being a ‘new’ arrival, there is obviously a familiarity with him and Chelsea, something that neither David Moyes nor Manuel Pellegrini will have at their new clubs.
For that, it will be important that Chelsea do all they can to gain an advantage in the league in order to wrestle the title back.
