Aside from the North London Derby, Chelsea and Everton's late kickoff on Saturday is shaping up to be the Premier League's clash of the weekend.

Indeed, both sides have enjoyed relatively strong starts to the season - they currently sit fourth and sixth respectively in the Premier League table - the duo each have a star striker in red hot form and both sides are amongst just four that have conceded less than a goal-per-game in the top flight.

Currently amid a four-match winning run in the league, in which they haven't conceded a goal, the Blues are undoubtedly the favourites for this one, especially with home advantage on their side.

But Everton have proved tough customers under Ronald Koeman and claimed a bitter-fought point away at Manchester City in mid-October - surely the blueprint for Saturday's encounter at Stamford Bridge.

With that in mind, the result could well come down to which side gets the upper hand in the key individual battles. We've taken a look at four that will decide the outcome on Saturday.

Diego Costa vs. Phil Jagielka and Ashley Williams

Southampton v Chelsea - Premier League

Since the latter's arrival during the summer, Phil Jagielka and Ashley Williams have been fantastic at the back for Everton, helping them claim the second-best goals conceded record in the division alongside three clean sheets. The veteran duo have gelled instantly and provided the steely basis the Toffees always lacked under Roberto Martinez.

In Diego Costa, however, Everton's centre-back partnership face their toughest test of the season so far. The Chelsea striker's seemingly matured under Antonio Conte and is now fully focused on scoring goals - eight in ten appearances, to be precise - rather than getting into fisticuffs with the opposition. He's still got a short fuse, though, and a few underhanded manoeuvres from Jagielka or Williams could bring the Spaniard's dark side out again.

Eden Hazard vs. Seamus Coleman

Eden Hazard

Make no mistake about it, Eden Hazard is back - producing the kind of form that saw him claim the PFA Player of the Year award in 2015 after guiding Chelsea to the Premier League title. Indeed, the Belgium international's bagged five goals and one assist already this season, whilst averaging 4.3 successful dribbles per match.

No doubt, Seamus Coleman is a talented defender, more than capable of dealing with Hazard on his day. But Chelsea's 3-4-3 formation creates some real problems for the Irishman, with Hazard occupying the inside channel and drifting rather than hugging the touchline in traditional winger fashion.

That being said, Coleman's renowned threat going forward, already grabbing one goal this season, could pin Hazard back if Marcos Alonso struggles to cope with the overlap.

Idrissa Gueye vs. N'Golo Kante

Idrissa Gueye

Stat enthusiasts will have known for some time how closely-knit these midfielders are. They both dominated the Premier League's tackles and interceptions charts last season and whilst N'Golo Kante's role has changed somewhat since he moved to Chelsea, Idrissa Gueye has maintained his position at the summit of the ball-winner rankings - averaging a division-best 4.5 tackles per match this season.

In fact, Kante and Gueye's careers are incredibly intertwined. Both made their names in Ligue 1, both moved to Midlands clubs in summer 2015 and both are famed for their mix of ball-winning ability and relentless energy, putting out fires all over the midfield.

That suggests a high-octane skirmish in the middle of the park on Saturday, although most will feel Kante is the better player.

Romelu Lukaku vs. Cesar Azpilicueta

In practice, Romelu Lukaku will be up against three centre-halves on Saturday, which can be a rather tall order for a lone front-man - even one that's currently second in the Premier League's scoring charts with seven goals already this season.

But due to the Belgium international's aerial ability, we get a sneaking feeling he'll try to target ad hoc centre-half Cesar Azpilicueta at the far post as much as possible. The 27-year-old measures in at just 5 foot 10, isn't a natural central defender and has averaged less successful aerial duels per match than partners Gary Cahill and David Luiz this season.

Indeed, it seems there is a weakness to be exploited in Chelsea's three-man backline, but Lukaku's ability to do so will largely depend on the service he receives from winger Yannick Bolasie.
