Even though we have known this for a while already, Gary Cahill has now officially left Chelsea and he will continue his career elsewhere.
At the end of last season, the experienced defender was already released by the Blues upon the expiry of his contract and everyone was waiting to see where the 33-year-old centre-back would end up next.
Now, he has personally answered that question when he posted an Instagram snap telling his followers he had signed for Crystal Palace.
The now ex-Chelsea star leaves Stamford Bridge after seven and a half seasons with the Blues, clinching almost every trophy imaginable including the Champions League in his first season, two Premier League titles, two Europa League cups, two FA Cups and a League Cup.
An sure enough, other stars were quick to send him messages of support as he takes on a slightly different challenge at Palace.
His former club was also there to wish him all the best, albeit in a slightly bantering fashion and with a funny tweet on social media.

It’s fairly safe to say that he will bring a lot of experience to his new team.
