Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane would prefer the club to sign Chelsea star Eden Hazard over Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah, according to Don Balon.

What's the story?

It is not the first time that Hazard and Salah have been linked with Los Blancos, and it is unlikely to be the last.

Both players are vital to their respective teams in the Premier League, but it seems that Madrid are keen to disrupt.

Don Balon reports that Zidane is keen for the club to swoop for Hazard this summer, and would prefer the Chelsea playmaker over Salah.

The Liverpool star has been in scintillating form having scored 44 goals in all competitions, and could potentially play a part in Madrid misery if the Reds win the Champions League final in Kiev on May 26.

Hazard has not been as prolific, but he has still managed to net 16 goals and create seven assists in all competitions.

Could Chelsea lose Hazard?

In almost every transfer window over the last few years, questions have been raised over the Belgian's future at Stamford Bridge.

So far, the midfielder has resisted the temptation to move elsewhere, but Chelsea's end to the season could end up loosening his resolve.

Antonio Conte's side finished fifth in the Premier League table following a humiliating 3-0 defeat to Newcastle United at St James' Park on Sunday.

It was a disappointing end to the season, particularly due to the fact that Chelsea lifted the title this time last year.

Hazard may feel that it is time for a fresh challenge, and if it came down to himself and Salah, the Liverpool star has more reasons to stay at his current club.

The Egyptian international has transformed into the star of the show at Anfield, and if the Reds win the Champions League, it would be hard to see Salah leaving this summer.
