Hazard replacement? Chelsea interested in La Liga giants’ key attacker

Chelsea are once again chasing Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann, according to reports from CalcioMercato.

The Frenchman has long been linked with the London club, with previous speculation having hinted that he may be a replacement for unsettled Stamford Bridge attacker, Eden Hazard.

Griezmann has developed a reputation as one of the most featured forwards in Spanish football since his 2014 move to Atletico from Real Sociedad, transforming from being an impressive winger to a capable striker under the guidance of Diego Simeone.

The 24-year-old is the Rojiblancos’ top scorer this season by some distance with 14 league goals, and reports claim that his electric form has alerted the seemingly incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, who is keen on the player.

Griezmann is in line to represent his home nation at this summer’s European Championship, so it remains to be seen if he will look to wait until after the tournament to resolve his future.
