The Belgian was being chased by a host of Europe’s top clubs after deciding to leave Lille last summer but he opted for Chelsea after they clinched the Champions League.
However, the Blues are way off the pace in the title race and crashed out of Europe in the group stages, but the Belgium ace is still happy with the decision he made.
“Yes. I am playing all the time, which is what I wanted,” he told L’Equipe.
“We will see if I will win trophies, which is the most important.
“I have realised the intensity (of the Premier League). We have no time for any rest during a match. At Lille there were five or 10 minutes when it was a bit calmer. In England it is always at full tilt for 90 minutes. You cannot give up anything otherwise you concede a goal.
“I thought it would be tougher physically but in Ligue 1 it is tough too. I’ve taken fewer blows in Premier League. Maybe they are more violent, so I try to avoid challenges! Anyway I am happy.”
