Chelsea are seemingly set to have to look elsewhere for attacking targets, with The Daily Mail stating that Everton have told the London club that Romelu Lukaku is not for sale.
The powerful Belgian striker has been a revelation at Goodison Park since leaving West London and scored 18 Premier League goals in a struggling Toffees side last term.
With Everton not qualifying for Europe, Lukaku was being tipped to leave Merseyside but Ronald Koeman’s men clearly want to hold onto their best players.
The former Anderlecht prodigy has been touted with a big-money return to Stamford Bridge, but the deal may well be off the table.
Everton are said to be frustrated with Chelsea following their public pursuit an subsequent unsettling of John Stones last summer, in which the Merseysiders refused to allow the England international to leave.
With another case of the London club coveting a Toffees star, the same could well happen this summer and spoil Antonio Conte’s plans.
