Chelsea have a big week ahead as they take on Liverpool twice in four days.

Maurizio Sarri’s side will go head to head with the Merseyside outfit at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League this Saturday.

Before that, though, they have an EFL Cup third-round tie against Jurgen Klopp’s men at Anfield on Wednesday evening.

More often than not, during the early rounds of cup competitions, top-flight clubs field second-string teams in order to give their stars a break.

On this occasion, the approach may be slightly different given that the clubs involved are of elite quality.

From Chelsea’s point of view, the club are likely to be putting the majority of their focus into their Premier League campaign.

The Blues have the EFL Cup, FA Cup and Europa League to compete in, but they are expected to be lower down on the list of priorities.

With that being said, should Sarri select a weakened XI for the midweek clash against Liverpool or go all out and make a statement?
