HYS: Should Chelsea give up on Morata?

Alvaro Morata was signed by Chelsea from Real Madrid last year as a replacement for Diego Costa.

The Spaniard arrived at Stamford Bridge with plenty of expectation, but he struggled to find consistency in front of goal.

When Antonio Conte left his post as manager, questions were raised over who would make the cut under new leader Maurizio Sarri.

At the start of the season it became clear that Morata would be first choice as he started the club’s first four Premier League matches.

The Blues have a 100% record so far, but the striker has netted just once and has been ineffective at times.

Against Cardiff City at the weekend, Sarri opted to play Olivier Giroud instead and it proved to be the right choice as the Frenchman nabbed two assists.

At this stage it is difficult to predict whether Morata will be a force for Chelsea this season, but given his past troubles, should the club get rid in January?
