According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web, Chelsea have already begun preparations for making a move to sign AC Milan forward Suso.

The two-cap Spain international plays primarily on the right wing and could come in to challenge the likes of Willian and Pedro for a place in the starting XI at Stamford Bridge. Bringing a great deal of creativity and goal threat, the 24-year-old would certainly help to ease the attacking burden currently on Eden Hazard's shoulders.

Suso has begun the new Serie A campaign in fine form, and has already registered three goals and seven assists in just nine league outings. Upon arrival in West London, he may even already represent a better first team option than either the struggling Willian or ageing Pedro.

However, with a Transfermarkt valuation of £36 million, Suso certainly wouldn’t come cheap. On top of that, the Blues are in far greater need of a new centre-forward, rather than another wide attacker.

For those reasons, Maurizio Sarri would be better off spending Chelsea’s transfer funds on other areas of his squad in greater need of reinforcement, unless he saw Suso as being a very significant upgrade on the likes of Willian or Pedro.

However, the Blues would likely still be better off sticking with the wide forwards they have for now and pursuing a new striker instead.

What do you think, Blues fans - would Suso be an upgrade on Willian?
