There's no doubt Andreas Christensen is an incredibly promising young defender, bringing real composure and calmness to heart of Chelsea's backline this season, but the last two fixtures haven't been kind to the Danish international.

After an erroneous pass against Barcelona that cost Chelsea a vital advantage to take into the second leg of the Champions League tie, Christensen struggled to cope with the power of Romelu Lukaku at Old Trafford last weekend - the Belgium international scoring and assisting in Manchester United's 2-1 win.

But that's to be expected of a 21-year-old defender against two high-quality opponents and mistakes will be an invaluable part of his development over the next few seasons.

However, we've now reached the business end of the campaign where errors are crucially costly, and Chelsea face another high-quality opponent this weekend in the form of Manchester City.

So, is it time to bring a more experienced alternative into the side at Christensen's expense? Gary Cahill has found himself increasingly marginalised this season but the 58-cap international can provide the experience Christensen currently lacks.
