As reported by The Daily Mail, Thibaut Courtois is expected to leave Stamford Bridge this summer and Chelsea are eyeing up a move for Roma goalkeeper Alisson as his replacement.

What's the story?

The paper say that Courtois is looking for a return to Madrid for family reasons and having not signed a new contract with the Blues, is likely to be sold this summer.

As a replacement though, Chelsea are looking to conclude a £60m deal for Brazilian Alison, beating the likes of Liverpool to his signature, according to the report.

Can Chelsea ensure they enter the new season with an elite, top-level goalkeeper in place?

Would he be a good signing?

Alisson is coming off the back of a fantastic season at Roma, helping them to a UEFA Champions League qualification spot.

The goalkeeper emerged as the club's number one last summer and managed to keep an incredible 22 clean sheets in 2017/18, including five in Europe, and is set to star for his country in this year's World Cup in Russia.

An excellent shot-stopper, the Brazilian has the character and confidence to make the number one spot his own at Stamford Bridge and has the ability to fill in for Courtois if he has his heart set on a return to La Liga.

Regarded as one of the best goalkeepers playing in Europe, if Chelsea really do have to lose another of the continent's best then there aren't many better replacements out there.
