According to Buzz Sport, Chelsea are considering a January swoop for Paris Saint-Germain attacker Lucas Moura.
Lucas has been frozen out at PSG in recent weeks, with the 25-year-old without an appearance in Ligue 1 since the beginning of November.
The Brazilian has not even been in the squad for four of PSG’s last six league matches, and it is widely thought that the attacker will seek pastures new at the start of 2018.
According to Buzz Sport, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is closely monitoring proceedings as the Italian looks to improve his attacking options for the second half of the 2017-18 campaign.
Willian’s future at Stamford Bridge is believed to be far from secure, which could see Chelsea bring a new attacker to the club when the winter window opens for business.
Manchester United were strongly linked with a move for Lucas before the winger joined PSG from Sao Paulo in the summer of 2012.
Lucas, who is valued at £34.2m by transfermarkt.co.uk, actually scored 19 times during a very impressive 2016-17 campaign, but the summer arrivals of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe have pushed the attacker down the pecking order.
There is no question that Lucas has talent, and whilst he has spells of inconsistency, the Brazil international certainly has the credentials to thrive in the Premier League.
It is unlikely that Chelsea would have to break the bank to sign Lucas, and he would be a welcome addition to the likes of Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata in the final third of the field.
Chelsea are unlikely to be the only club interested if Lucas does indeed become available, but the Blues would fancy their chances of winning any race which might occur.
