As reported exclusively by The Sunday Express, Real Madrid have made Chelsea star Eden Hazard their number one transfer target this summer and they're willing to sacrifice a lot to land him.

What's the story?

Hazard has, predictably, been in outstanding form for Chelsea this season. In all competitions he's scored 15 goals and assisted nine more so far this term, an undoubted key man in Antonio Conte's first team.

No surprise then that Europe's biggest clubs are interested in luring the Belgian away from Stamford Bridge.

The Sunday Express report that one such club is Real Madrid, who are preparing a huge £100m bid for the player, in a deal that would also include Gareth Bale arriving back in the English Premier League to pull on a Chelsea shirt.

Is that something that Chelsea should be interested in?

A good deal?

Rated at £67.5m by Transfermarkt, there's no doubting that Gareth Bale is still an elite talent and would be effective in the English Premier League should he make a return from La Liga.

However, right now, Eden Hazard is such a talisman for Chelsea that it's hard to imagine the Welshman being able to replicate the Belgian magician's success at Stamford Bridge.

Both are at similar stages of their careers, Bale is only six months older than the Chelsea man, but Hazard is weaved into the fabric of the Chelsea first team and swapping him for Bale makes little sense, even if with the reported £100m fee attached.

Hazard's contract doesn't expire until 2020, so even if contract talks are not progressing, there's no need for the Blues to panic and let him leave the club anytime soon, even in the face of huge offers.
