Italian giants ready to take Chelsea flop

Inter Milan are ready to pay £20m to end Fernando Torres’ Chelsea nightmare this summer, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

The Spanish star arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2011 in a £50m deal from Liverpool, where he had developed a reputation as one o the world’s very best forwards.

However he has consistently struggled with the Blues, leading to claims that he has been available for a transfer for some time.

With the West London club said to be tracking a big name goal-getter this coming off-season, it looks likely that the £150,000-per-week front-man will be axed, with Inter interested.

The Serie A giants are understood to have money to spend this summer following their recent takeover, and have already moved to agree a Bosman deal with Manchester United’s Nemanja Vidic.

With Torres having commanded a massive fee just three years ago, Chelsea are desperate to recoup some cash but they’re aware that £20m – less than half of their outlay – will be a good price for the misfiring forward.

Jose Mourinho is said to be eyeing Diego Costa of Atletico Madrid and Monaco’s Radamel Falcao as replacements.
