Chelsea supporters have taken to Twitter to exclaim surprising optimism at the potential departure of Eden Hazard to Real Madrid.

Hazard's long-anticipated move to the Spanish capital could finally be nearing fruition after French newspaper L'Equipe reported that the two clubs have agreed a €100m (£87m) fee that will see the Chelsea star join Zinedine Zidane's side after the conclusion of the Europa League final.

In what could very well end up as his final appearance at Stamford Bridge in Chelsea blue, Hazard coolly slotted home the fifth and decisive penalty against Eintracht Frankfurt to send the Blues to the Europa League final in Baku.

After signing from Lille in the summer of 2012 Hazard has gone on to make 351 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 108 goals, while winning the Europa League, two Premier League titles, one FA Cup trophy, and one League Cup medal.

Hazard has enjoyed his most productive campaign to date this season, scoring 16 Premier League goals and providing a further 15 assists as speculation over his future has dominated the headlines.

Despite Hazard's scintillating seven-year spell, some Blues fans have been able to see his looming exit in a positive light, with many believing it will see Chelsea operate as more of a team - something that directly plays in to the hands of Maurizio Sarri's philosophy.
